Open Enrollment ends today at 5 p.m. Pacific. This is your final chance to update your benefits for 2026. This means that after today you will not be able to make any changes to your 2026 benefits (unless you have a mid-year qualifying life event).
Visit the Open Enrollment website on UCnet for additional information, videos, tools, and resources, and access the UCPath Portal to make your benefits selections for 2026 once you have decided which benefit choices are right for you and your family.
If you do not take any action, your current enrollments will roll over into 2026, with the exception of the CORE and Health Saving Plan (HSP) enrollment, as well as your Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). If you wish to continue your participation in either the Health FSA (for healthcare expenses for you and your family members) or Dependent Care FSA (for childcare or eldercare expenses), you must actively re-enroll for each plan.
Employees enrolled in the Core and Health Savings Plan (HSP) in 2025 must elect a new medical plan for 2026. If no active election is made, they will be defaulted into the new Health Savings+ plan.

Are you aware of enhanced infertility benefits that will be available under California’s SB 729?
Infertility affects one in six people globally and can be treated through various medical services, including in vitro fertilization (IVF). Starting January 2026, California Senate Bill 729 mandates that certain health insurance plans cover infertility diagnosis and treatment, including up to three IVF cycles. The UC Blue & Gold HMO and Kaiser HMO plans are subject to this bill, offering coverage for egg retrievals, fertility medications, physician services and ambulatory surgery with specific copays and co-insurance rates. UC San Diego Health fertility specialists are in-network for some plans. To ensure easy access to care, insured staff and faculty seeking fertility services can call the Quick Connect line at 858-249-3550. More information on these services can be found here under the FAQ’s.
The enrollment deadline is 5 p.m. Pacific today, Friday, November 21. Any changes you make will take effect on January 1, 2026.
