Summer Graduate Teaching Scholars (SGTS) and Mentorship Awards |
We are excited to announce the recipients of the 2025 Summer Graduate Teaching Scholars (SGTS) and Mentorship Awards! Through the SGTS program, 86 advanced graduate students received training from the Teaching and Learning Commons and 82 served as the instructor for an undergraduate course during Summer Sessions 2025, with close support from one of 73 dedicated faculty mentors. From this extremely impressive group, six scholars and four mentors were selected to receive awards for their exemplary contributions to teaching and learning at UC San Diego.

These scholars stood out for their deep engagement with course material, their thoughtful and effective instructional practices, and their ability to leverage available resources to enhance the learning experience. Through active participation in the SGTS community and continuous personal growth as educators, they have demonstrated a strong commitment to scholarly teaching.

These mentors were selected for their impactful guidance and support, as demonstrated through both their mentees' feedback and their own reflections. Their dedication and positive influence were vital to their mentees' growth throughout the SGTS program.
On behalf of ourselves and the SGTS Committee, we congratulate these awardees for their distinguished efforts! We also extend our appreciation to the entire 2025 SGTS pool of teaching scholars and mentors for their meaningful contributions to undergraduate education UC San Diego.
