Dear Triton Community,
We wanted to reach out to the campus community in the midst of this time of uncertainty, and perhaps anxiety, prompted by recent announcements and changes in federal policies and processes. In any time of change, it is completely understandable to feel a sense of unease, but we wanted to reassure those in our community that there are many people across campus, and across the UC system, who are monitoring these changes, troubleshooting situations as they arise, and working with colleagues to ensure if a change does impact you that you will be notified of how to move forward and next steps.
If you believe you have received a directive from a Federal agency indicating a change or stoppage of your work, please share it with your supervisor and email a copy of the communication you received to vcresearch@ucsd.edu.
If you have a specific question about a policy or process change and how it may impact you, please reach out to your supervisor for more information. As the Chancellor shared last week, the UC Office of the President also launched a Federal Updates website with information and resources on the UC system’s approach to recent executive orders.
For those who may want additional support, resources are also available through the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP). We would also encourage everyone to redouble your commitment to working together toward our common goals, to remain attentive to our Principles of Community, and to take extra time to ensure you are communicating with care and looking out for those in your circles.
We remain positive, committed to the work of UC San Diego, and to supporting our campus community, moving forward together.
