Join us on Thursday, March 13, 2025 for a community conversation with Laura Rendón. Established in 2015 by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, the EDI speaker series showcases high-profile speakers who explore pressing and timely issues. This year, Rendón’s presence on our campus results from a collaborative partnership between the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (VC-EDI) and the Division of Extended Studies, which hosts various Public Events and Lectures to advance lifelong learning.
Laura Rendón, Ph.D., is a nationally-recognized higher education leader known for her scholarly work in student preparation, access, and success. Her research has been published in high impact education research journals and informed policies and practices within higher education that have transformed the lives of students. As the creator of the Validation Theory, she has helped redefine how we support and uplift students. Her research and advocacy have paved the way for countless individuals to realize their potential and achieve academic success.
The event program will be held at UC San Diego's Jeannie Auditorium from 5 to 7 p.m. Beverages will be served. Parking is available at the Scholars Parking Structure (9655 Scholars Drive N., La Jolla, CA 92093). Public transportation is highly recommended.
