Important Changes to UC Path Access

Due to increasing phishing threats to personal information in UC Path, UC San Diego - along with all UC locations – is now requiring the use of Duo multi-factor authentication with “Verified Push” when accessing UC Path.

As of February 28, 2025, the following changes have been made:

  • When attempting to access UC Path, Duo will now require a “Verified Push,” which prompts users to enter a four-digit PIN for added security
  • SMS codes are no longer available as a verification method
  • Members of UC San Diego Health will need to use the Campus Duo “Verified Push” to access UC Path from clinical locations that previously didn’t require Duo

If you are experiencing issues logging into UC Path with Duo, please:

  1. Ensure you have the Duo Mobile app installed on your phone: Learn more about Duo Two-Step Login
  2. Reactivate Duo by following the steps on this guide: Unable to Use Duo for UC Path

If your device is incompatible with Duo Mobile or you’re unable to use your phone for authentication, you can request a Duo hardware token by completing the Duo Hardware Token Request form.
