We are pleased to announce the reappointment of Dean Lisa Ordóñez as Dean of the Rady School of Management, following a positive administrative review and recommendation for reappointment by the review committee.
Since her appointment in 2019, Dean Ordóñez has provided strategic leadership that has strengthened Rady’s position within UC San Diego and the broader business education landscape. She led the creation of the "Ideas to Impact" strategic plan, aligning Rady’s vision with the university’s goals and ensuring steady progress toward key initiatives.
Under her leadership, Rady has expanded academic programs and student support, achieving record-breaking enrollments and increasing opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty diversity and female MBA enrollment have also significantly increased, exceeding national averages. Dean Ordóñez has reinforced Rady’s research mission, expanding faculty support, allocating endowed chairs and fellowships, and increasing external research funding. She has also prioritized ethical leadership, establishing transparent policies and fostering a culture of accountability.
Through fundraising and external partnerships, Rady has secured $22 million in donor investment and grown alumni engagement and corporate collaborations. She has also enhanced operational efficiency, improving financial stability, eliminating deficits, and generating consistent annual surpluses to invest in the school’s future.
The committee praised Dean Ordóñez’s leadership in faculty support, community building and campus partnerships, all of which have positioned Rady for continued success.
