Reminder - Teaching and Learning Commons Program Review and Survey

The Teaching and Learning Commons (the Commons) will be undergoing its first program review in May. We request your feedback now via a survey linked below and will welcome your participation in a remote visit in May.

Overview
The Commons was founded in 2014, and is charged with advancing teaching and learning excellence via two programmatic strands: instructional development for educators and student academic support. Through its programs, services, and research, the Commons seeks to assist all members of the UC San Diego community in developing learning environments and experiences that encourage engagement and foster student success.

Review Details
The Commons is undergoing its first program review on May 12 and May 14, 2025. This review will be facilitated by the Division of Undergraduate Education, the Division of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs and the Academic Senate. The review includes a self-study and a remote visit by an external review committee. The purpose of this review is to evaluate the Commons’ effectiveness in advancing teaching and learning excellence and to identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth.

Campus Input and Participation in the Remote Visit
This review will engage the entire campus community, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, lecturers, the Academic Senate, campus partners, campus administration, and Commons staff. We encourage campus community members to share their input through the anonymous surveys linked below. There are three different surveys – one for students, one for instructors & instructional assistants (faculty, lecturers, teaching assistants, etc.), and one for other campus members. You are welcome to submit more than one survey if appropriate (e.g., you are a graduate student that receives support as a student and are also an instructional assistant). Additionally, if you are interested in participating in one of the open meeting slots dedicated to students or faculty during the site visit, please fill out the interest form below. The surveys and interest forms are open until April 4.
