Temporary Systemwide Wildfire Catastrophic Leave Bank

Dear colleagues,

As you may have seen on UCnet or Updates from HR, a new, temporary Systemwide Wildfire Catastrophic Leave Bank has been established to benefit UC employees who have been adversely affected by the recent wildfires in the greater Los Angeles region.

Through March 31, 2025, eligible employees may offer to donate their accrued vacation or staff PTO hours to this bank. If an offer to donate is not needed or used, the accrued time will be returned to the team member who offered it. Eligible affected employees from any UC location may receive donations from the bank. Information for employees is available on UCnet.

To Donate:

Campus employees (academics and staff): Visit the Catastrophic Leave Donation Program Blink webpage.
Health and Health Sciences staff employees: Submit the UC San Diego Health Donation Request, receive and complete the electronic signature request, your supervisor will then receive an electronic signature request and the signed form automatically routes to Health HR.
Health Sciences academic employees: Complete and sign the Donation Request Form, have your Supervisor sign the “Location Department Head” section and email the completed form to the Academic Resource Center ARCrequest@ucsd.edu.
