UC Required Training Enforcement Begins May 5

Dear Colleagues,

University of California policies, federal law and state legislation require faculty, staff, and student employees to complete various compliance and training courses based on their role with the University. The UC Learning Center sends automated assignment emails and reminders with information about the required course and completion due date.

UC Required Training Courses

  • UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention for Non-Supervisors
  • UC Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention for Supervisors, Faculty & Managers and Senior Professionals (MSP)
  • UC Abusive Conduct in the Workplace
  • UC Workplace Violence Prevention
  • UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals

Training Enforcement Begins: Monday, May 5, 2025

Beginning on Monday, May 5, 2025, UC San Diego will implement an intercept screen upon Single Sign-On (SSO) login to alert you to upcoming or overdue required training.

To remain compliant and maintain access to any system requiring SSO, please review the following:

  • If your training is 14 days before the due date to 30 days past due → You will receive messaging to complete the training before your access to the system is denied due to non-compliance.
  • If your training is more than 30 days past due → Your access will be denied until you complete the training. A link to the training will be provided when attempting to login via SSO.

Please review your list of assigned training to ensure you are up to date with everything currently assigned to you. If the training is not assigned to you, you cannot be out of compliance and therefore not subject to enforcement.

Important Note for Health Science Users

Access to clinical applications will not be impacted unless using the campus Single Sign-On.
