June 3, 2025 Representative Assembly Meeting

Dear Colleagues:

The final regular Representative Assembly meeting of the 2024-25 academic year is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3 at 3:30 p.m., in the Garren Auditorium of the Biomedical Sciences Building (1st floor).

All Senate members are welcome to attend. If you are a Senate member who is not an Assembly Representative and you plan to attend the meeting, please RSVP to the Academic Senate Office at academicsenateoffice@ucsd.edu. We ask meeting participants to arrive by 3:15 so we may begin promptly at 3:30.

EVC Simmons will address the Assembly and there will be presentations on supporting students in distress and the Triton CORE program. In addition, the following proposals will be considered:

  • Proposal to establish San Diego Divisional Bylaw 219 Committee on Crisis Mitigation
  • Proposal to establish a Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics
  • Proposal to amend San Diego Divisional Regulation 600 Campuswide Graduation Requirements
  • Proposal to amend San Diego Divisional Regulation 500 Grading Policy
  • Proposal to amend San Diego Divisional Regulation 501 Adding and Dropping Courses and Withdrawal
  • Proposal to establish a PhD in Management with a Specialization in Anthropogeny
  • Proposal to establish a Graduate Specialization in Cognitive Science
  • Proposal to amend San Diego Divisional Bylaw 230 Privilege and Tenure
  • Proposal to amend San Diego Divisional Regulation 625 Academic Requirements of Eleanor Roosevelt College

I ask that you please review the materials in advance of the meeting and send questions to academicsenateoffice@ucsd.edu with the agenda topic number in the email subject line, by noon on Friday, May 30. Your questions will be shared with the presenters so that they may be prepared to discuss them in advance.

Primary Representatives and Alternate Representatives should coordinate their attendance and voting for this meeting. Both may attend; however, Alternate Representatives may only vote in the absence of the Primary Representative. Please coordinate who will attend and cast votes, in advance of the meeting. Your participation matters. I look forward to seeing you on June 3.
