We are pleased to announce the opening of the new McGrath Outpatient Pavilion at UC San Diego Health – Hillcrest Medical Campus. This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant milestone in the continued transformation of our Hillcrest campus.

The McGrath Outpatient Pavilion is designed to provide exceptional outpatient care in a modern, patient-centered environment. Patients now have expanded access to advanced imaging, infusion, outpatient surgery and specialty clinical programs, including ear, nose and throat, neurosurgery, oncology, orthopedics, urology and women’s health – all supported by the latest medical technologies and the region’s best highly skilled care teams.

This opening also marks a major step in UC San Diego Health’s expansion of its NCI-designated cancer care. The building sets a new model of excellence, bringing together integrated, multidisciplinary care, cutting-edge clinical trials and exceptional cancer treatment – all under one roof – to deliver the highest standards of care available today.

Delivering on the Hillcrest LRDP Vision

The opening of the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion, alongside the recently completed First Avenue Parking Structure, marks the successful completion of the first phase of the UC San Diego Hillcrest Campus Long Range Development Plan (LRDP). These projects represent the university’s commitment to fulfilling the promises outlined in the LRDP – enhancing access to care, improving patient and visitor experience, and investing in the long-term health infrastructure of our region.

Together, these developments lay the foundation for a reimagined Hillcrest campus that will increase access to the region’s No. 1 health care system and serve our community for decades to come.

Your Care at McGrath Outpatient Pavilion

We invite all UC San Diego students, faculty and staff – particularly those living in central and southern San Diego – to consider scheduling their clinical visits and outpatient procedures at the McGrath Outpatient Pavilion. This new facility offers convenient access to high-quality care closer to where many of our community members live and work.
