Search for the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs

I am pleased to announce the launch of the search to fill the position of Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UC San Diego. To help manage the search process, we have enlisted the assistance of a leading executive search consulting team from Spencer Stuart. Cristina Della Coletta, Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities and Meenakshi Wadhwa, Vice Chancellor for Marine Sciences, have agreed to co-chair the Search Advisory Committee, whose members are listed below.

Informed by a series of listening sessions held with various constituencies on campus, the search firm will develop a comprehensive position profile that includes challenges and opportunities for the next EVCAA. The Search Advisory Committee will begin reviewing candidates soon after the position profile is developed, and the search will continue until the position is filled.

I am also pleased to announce that, beginning July 1, 2026, Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Robert Continetti will serve as Interim EVCAA.
