Introducing UC San Diego’s Youth Program Registry

We are pleased to announce the launch of UC San Diego’s Youth Program Registry, available at https://blink.ucsd.edu/go/youth.

UC San Diego’s Policy and Procedure Manual (PPM) 200-26 Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Procedures requires that all Youth Programs operated by UC San Diego register initially and renew annually with Risk Management. A “Youth Program” is defined as, “Any event, operation, or endeavor operated, conducted, or organized by the University that primarily serves a Child (or children) who are not University students for a period of time during which parents or guardians are not expected to be responsible for their care, custody, or control.”

Common activities and programs that require registration:

  • Youth Sports Athletic Camps and Clinics
  • Day Camps and Programs (non-sport)
  • Overnight Camps and Programs
  • Mentoring and Tutoring Programs
  • Outreach Programs
  • Community Service Activities
  • ALL internships for minors (labs, field, office, etc.)
  • Recruitment Activities

This Youth Program Registry form should be completed at least 45 calendar days prior to the start of a program/activity. The individual completing the form must be someone who understands the scope of the program and has authority to ensure that it will meet all University policies related to the safe supervision of minors and CANRA.

Questions regarding the Youth Program Registry requirements should be directed to EHSrisk@ucsd.edu.
