Required Test of the UC San Diego Emergency Notification System (Triton Alert) – March 24, 2026

On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, UC San Diego will conduct a test of the Triton Alert emergency notification system.

A test emergency notification will be sent to all ucsd.edu email accounts. Students, faculty, and staff who have provided a cell phone number and opted in to receive emergency notifications will also receive a test text message.

In an actual emergency, an email with “TRITON ALERT” in the subject line will be sent to all ucsd.edu email accounts and via text message to individuals who have provided a cell phone number and opted in to receive emergency notifications. Individuals can update their emergency contact information, including their cell phone number, by going to the Triton Alert Notifications page on Blink.

A test message will also be shared via UC San Diego Triton Alert social media channels, including X, Instagram, and Facebook. Follow @UCSDTritonAlert for emergency notifications and updates.

Triton Alert emails and text messages are delivered through UC San Diego’s emergency notification vendor, Everbridge. Email notifications will appear from “Triton Alert <noreply@everbridge.net>.” Triton Alert text messages will come from 893-61, 893-62, or 888777. Some text messages may include a weblink beginning with “https://evb.gg/....”, which directs recipients to the full Triton Alert message when a notification exceeds standard text message character limits. Recognizing these sender addresses and links can help confirm that a message is an official communication from UC San Diego.

Anticipating and planning for emergencies can reduce injuries and property damage during a campuswide emergency, and eases return to normal operations. Every UC San Diego department must have an Emergency Action Plan (EAP), which outlines evacuation procedures and other building-specific emergency protocols. Please take a moment to review your department’s EAP so you are familiar with the actions to take before an emergency occurs.

For assistance or questions, please contact Emergency Management and Mission Continuity at emergency@ucsd.edu.
