UC San Diego Celebrates Women’s History Month Throughout March

All faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in UC San Diego's Women’s History Month celebration throughout March. This important observance and celebration will feature a range of programs focused on the many contributions of women in history, culture and society.

This year’s theme, "Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future," spotlights the diverse contributions of women driving sustainability across environmental, economic, educational and social justice movements.

Among the many events taking place as part of Women’s History Month are:

  • Faculty/Staff Women’s History Month Lunch and Listen Series, Tuesdays in March from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom. Join the weekly virtual sessions.
  • Recentering the Sustainability of Us, Wednesday, March 11, 1-2 p.m., Dolores Huerta/Philip Vera Cruz Room. Registration is required and can be completed online.
  • Women’s History Month Student Vendor Fair and Clothing Swap, Wednesday, April 1, 4-6 p.m. at the Women’s Center.

In recognition of this annual celebration, two hours of administrative leave with pay have been approved for employees to attend a UC San Diego Women’s History Month event. Supervisors, upon request, may approve the use of such leave when the absence does not infringe upon the performance of required job duties or patient care.
