Over the past two weeks, UC San Diego officials have been made aware of two reported incidents in which campus buildings and surrounding areas were vandalized with swastikas.
We are angered and saddened to see our campus defaced by this symbol of hate and Antisemitism, and as always, we stand with our Jewish community and the University of California to reject all forms of racism, intolerance, bigotry and discrimination. We reaffirm our support for our valued Jewish community and regret the pain caused by this offensive and abhorrent symbol.
Let me be clear: any acts of discrimination, including Antisemitism, will not be tolerated at UC San Diego.
UC San Diego rigorously enforces our anti-discrimination policy. These incidents are being actively investigated by our campus police, and those found responsible for violating our policies will be held accountable.
If anyone has information regarding these incidents, please contact University Police so the perpetrators may be held accountable. In addition, we encourage reports to be filed with The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination regarding any incidents of harassment or discrimination.
