I am writing to inform you of a continuation of the Winter Start program for incoming transfer students. This past January, the campus welcomed a small number of transfer students who were admitted to start in the Winter 2026 term. Approximately 80 new transfer students were admitted to this Winter Start Pilot. Additionally, about 40 students were deferred admission to begin in winter for a variety of reasons. Students were admitted to majors that were intentionally selected based on course patterns and required sequences, and with department agreement.
In response to campus leadership’s goals for better utilizing our enrollment capacity throughout the year, the decision was made to continue to make a limited number of offers for Winter 2027. Approximately 100 students will begin coursework in January. Unlike this past year, students admitted to Winter 2027 will learn of their admission decision at the same time as all the Fall 2026 admits at the end of April. Students with questions regarding their admission are encouraged to review the Frequently Asked Questions section in their portal.
