Notice of Senate Election – Final Day to Vote

Dear Colleagues,

Since its founding, the San Diego Divisional Academic Senate has played a vital role in the governance of our university. Particularly during this time of uncertainty, it is critical that faculty exercise their voice. Last year we had a record turnout, with participation nearly double the usual rate. Higher participation gives the Academic Senate a stronger mandate to represent its members and strengthens shared governance across the campus.

If you have not yet voted, please do so before the election closes at 4:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, May 13, 2026). If you have already voted, thank you!

  • Review the reference ballot and bios for the candidates on the Senate webpage.
  • All voting is electronic via the Spring election’s online ballot (Single Sign-On Required).

Our campus has significantly grown since our founding, and not all faculty will know everyone who is on the ballot. The voting reference page and the ballot itself includes a bio for each candidate to provide information about your colleagues running for Senate positions.

Thank you for participating in this democratic process!

Sincerely,

Akos Rona-Tas
Vice Chair, Academic Senate, San Diego Division
