Commencement and Move-Out Impacts

Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 14

UC San Diego will experience increased traffic, parking demand and roadway impacts as students move out and the campus hosts commencement ceremonies. Move-out begins on June 5, with commencement ceremonies taking place June 12–14.

Community members should expect temporary road closures, traffic delays, increased pedestrian activity and limited parking near commencement venues and residential areas. Traffic control and parking operations may be adjusted throughout the weekend as needed.

Transportation Services, in coordination with campus partners and public safety, will manage traffic, parking and shuttle operations throughout the event period. Community members are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted signage and staff direction.

For detailed move-out, commencement, parking, roadway and shuttle impacts, visit Transportation Services’ traffic impacts page.

For parking and transportation assistance, contact Parking and Commuter Services.

Community members traveling to campus on June 13–14 who are not attending commencement are encouraged to enter campus via Gilman Drive and park in the South Parking Structure to avoid peak event traffic.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we celebrate the graduating Class of 2026.
