Triton Student System (TSS) Access for Faculty and Staff |
Dear Colleagues,
UC San Diego is preparing for the launch of the Triton Student System (TSS), the university’s new student information system.
Staff and faculty will receive access to TSS starting on Monday, July 13, 2026. Main campus students will receive access on Monday, July 20, 2026, and Division of Extended Studies (DES) students will receive access Friday, August 7, 2026.
This notice provides key actions and resources for staff and faculty as the university prepares for launch, including how access will be provisioned, where to get support, where to find TSS training and how to stay informed during launch and hypercare.
|
We are streamlining and simplifying the process for faculty and staff to gain access to TSS during this transition period.
To support launch readiness, most faculty and student-facing staff will automatically be provisioned with TSS access appropriate to their role. This is a change to what has been previously communicated. Please carefully review the guidance below to determine if any action is required on your part.
|
- Lecturers, instructors and faculty members with teaching as part of their job. You will be automatically provisioned with TSS access on July 13.
- Staff with access to TritonLink or ISIS. You will be automatically provisioned with TSS access on July 13.
-
Faculty and staff who are not in any of the groups above. Review the TSS Roles and Access Knowledge Base Article (KBA) and request the appropriate role through the Campus Access Request Form (CARF). You will receive access to TSS once your CARF request has been approved.
- Not sure which access path applies to you? Try logging in on July 13. If you cannot log in, or do not have the access you expected, please join us at office hours and we’ll assist you with your TSS access.
|
If you have already submitted a CARF request and it is no longer needed because you will be automatically provisioned access, you do not need to take any action. We will close outdated requests.
This launch-period provisioning process applies only during the initial TSS launch period. After July 13:
| -
New staff who require TSS access will need to review the TSS Roles and Access KBA and request the appropriate role through CARF.
-
New lecturers and faculty with teaching as part of their job will automatically receive access to TSS.
- Existing faculty and staff requesting changes to their access will continue to use the CARF.
|
If you need uAchieve access and do not currently have it, you will need to submit a CARF request for uAchieve access, even if you do not need to submit it for TSS access.
|
Triton Enrollment Authorization (TEA) Access
|
TEA will replace the Enrollment Authorization System (EASy), and will be available starting on July 20, 2026. The first wave of students will begin booking classes on July 22, 2026.
|
-
For course instructors: No TEA-specific access request is needed for instructors. Instructors will receive access to review and approve requests in TEA with their TSS access.
-
Instructors will not receive email notifications about TEA requests that require their review. They must log into TSS to see TEA notifications. Email notifications will be added in future quarters.
-
For staff: No TEA-specific access request is needed for existing EASy department approvers. A snapshot of EASy department approvers was taken on June 29, 2026, and those approvers will receive the equivalent access in TEA with their TSS access.
-
If staffing changes occur after the snapshot date, a ServiceNow form will be used to add or remove TEA approvers until this functionality is available in TEA. This ServiceNow form will be shared when it is available.
|
Some staff will receive elevated TSS access based on their current access, role or business need. Staff identified for elevated access will receive a separate email confirming when that access has been provisioned.
For more information about elevated TSS access groups and role descriptions, review the TSS access news article and the TSS Roles and Access KBA.
|
- For the School of Medicine role, please submit a CARF request. No one will be automatically provisioned.
- For DES roles, expect to receive an email by Friday, July 17, notifying you that your access has been provisioned.
-
For all other roles listed, expect to receive an email by Monday, July 13, notifying you that your access has been provisioned.
|
If you do not receive an email notification by the expected date, and you think you should have, please submit a CARF request.
|
Once access has been granted and TSS is available, authorized users will access TSS at http://sis.ucsd.edu. If you attempt to access this link prior to July 13, you will receive an error.
|
Getting Support during Launch and Hypercare
|
TSS launch will be followed by an active hypercare period to support faculty, staff and students as they begin using the new system.
For a TSS access issue, technical issue or information that appears incorrect in TSS, use one of the following support options. Current support hours and links will also be posted on the TSS Project Website - Getting Support for TSS.
|
- Email support: tss@ucsd.edu, emailing this address will automatically create a support ticket and add your inquiry to the support queue
- Phone support: 858-246-4357, press 2 for TSS support
-
Office Hours support: Zoom
- In-person support: Applied Physics & Mathematics, Room 1313, First Floor (Map)
|
Please note: Requests to adjust existing TSS access must still be submitted through CARF. The support options above are for TSS access issues, technical issues and questions once support begins.
|
Stay Informed and Prepare
|
As TSS launch approaches, faculty and staff are encouraged to use the following resources to prepare and stay informed.
|
Initial Release Expectations
|
The upcoming initial release of the TSS will deliver a basic, mission-critical set of capabilities required to support core university functions. Not all desired features, refinements, or efficiencies will be available immediately when the TSS launches, and some processes may initially feel more manual or less streamlined than expected.
The rollout will require adjustment and problem-solving as the system is used at scale; the dedicated support channels noted above are in place to help address challenges as they arise. Our shared goal for this initial release is functional stability and institutional readiness. In line with UC San Diego’s ethos of continuous improvement, we will implement updates and refinements once the initial TSS implementation is stable.
Thank you for your continued partnership as UC San Diego prepares for the TSS launch.
