ALL ACADEMICS AND STAFF AT UC SAN DIEGO, INCLUDING UC SAN DIEGO HEALTH

Open Enrollment Begins Today

Important: A review of current elections is recommended as premiums and/or medical plans may change for 2026. Please read the message below in its entirety.

Open Enrollment, your once-a-year opportunity to review and select benefit offerings at UC San Diego, begins today, October 30 at 8 a.m. Pacific, and ends on Friday, November 21 at 5 p.m. Pacific.

Please do not wait until the last minute to make your selections or ask questions. Ensure you allocate enough time to make the best choices for you and your loved ones. Enroll for benefits through the UCPath portal here.

As announced in this previous Open Enrollment campus notice, there will be an increase to some employee medical plan costs in 2026. The premiums can be viewed on UCnet here.

In addition, the Health Savings+ Plan will replace the CORE and UC Health Savings plan (HSP) for 2026. This HealthSavings+ will be UC’s lowest premium medical plan, and it includes a Health Savings Account (HSA). CORE and Health Savings Plan members who do not take action during Open Enrollment will be automatically defaulted into the new Health Savings+ plan.

The following resources will be available to help you make informed decisions:

  • In-Person Open Enrollment Fairs: Representatives from our benefits vendors and network partners will be on-site offering valuable resources, giveaways, and informational materials to help you make the most of your benefits. For additional information concerning the campus fair, please visit Blink. For additional information concerning the UC San Diego Health fair, please visit Pulse.
  • Vendor partner presentations: Representatives will be available to answer questions after each vendor partner presentation throughout November. The presentation schedule is available on Blink.
  • HHR on-site visits: The Health HR Benefit Services team will visit multiple locations in the system during Open Enrollment to answer questions in person. More information is available on Pulse.
  • Open Enrollment office hours: You can attend a virtual office hours session to learn more and have your questions answered. The office hours schedule is available on Blink.

Open Enrollment is also the time for you to enroll or re-enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) if you want to continue your Health FSA for healthcare expenses for you and your family members, or Dependent Care FSA for childcare or eldercare expenses in 2026. Re-enrollment is not automatic for these plans. If you would like to enroll for one of these plans, you will need to make your new annual election during Open Enrollment.
